About us
Independent, owner-run and still growing
Seven Decker is a hospitality and property group with restaurants, boutique rooms and event spaces in Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Goa. We own or lease every building we trade from and run every venue ourselves.
How it started
In 2015 we took on a seven-storey building on an old textile mill compound in Lower Parel that had been empty for years. Rather than pick one use for it, we used every floor: a restaurant at street level, fourteen rooms above it, offices in the middle and a rooftop event space at the top.
People started calling it "the seven decker". The building is still our flagship and our head office, and the name became the group.
How we work
We look for buildings with character in neighbourhoods that are on the way up, then decide what each one should become. Some sites suit a restaurant on its own. Others can carry rooms or an event space too. Our property team handles acquisition, design and fit-out, and our operations team takes it from opening day.

What we care about
Our principles
Buildings first
We would rather restore an old building than fit out a new box. It takes longer, and the result lasts.
Run it ourselves
No franchises and no management contracts. Every venue is run by our own team to the same standard.
Neighbourhood, not destination
We want regulars in for breakfast on a Tuesday as much as visitors on a Saturday night.
Seasonal and regional
Menus change with the seasons and we buy from producers as close to each venue as we can.
Good jobs
Fair pay, proper shifts and real career paths, from first shift to general manager and beyond.
Steady growth
Two or three openings a year at most, so each one gets the attention it needs.
Leadership
The team behind the group
Arjun Kapadia
Leads the group and the openings programme.
Nisha Raman
Responsible for every venue, from kitchens to housekeeping.
Vikram Desai
Finds new sites and runs design, planning and fit-out.
Meera Iyer
Looks after finance, procurement and supplier contracts.
Kavya Sethi
Brand, digital, launches and guest communications.
Sameer Bhat
Recruitment, training and everything to do with our team.
